The are many tertiary education institutions all over the world that offer chiropractic. Here, in South Africa, chiropractic can be studied at the University of Johannesburg or the Durban University of Technology. The 6 year course includes a 4 year undergraduate degree and a 2 year masters degree. Subjects include anatomy, physiology, chiropractic practice, biomechanics, diagnostics and clinical chiropractic. During their masters, chiropractors are required to write a dissertation. Finally, an intensive internship program is completed which requires observations of many health care professionals, community service and additional educational courses.

Chiropractic treats a wide variety of conditions including low back pain, headaches, sports injuries and paediatric conditions.
